The Friends of the Free Library of Philadelphia and the After School Activities Partnership (ASAP) invite community members to branches across the city for
Philly Plays Scrabble, a month-long tournament. Celebrate your love of language and commitment to literacy by volunteering or competing in this exciting program throughout October.
To kick off the tournament, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey and Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers (along with some help from ASAP’s youth Scrabble players) will participate in the Battle of the Commissioners on Thursday October 1, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at the Parkway Central Library.
Philly Plays Scrabble will culminate in a tournament for non-rated players of all ages on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Community College of Philadelphia.
