“Philly Plays Scrabble” is a month long scrabble tournament held at libraries throughout the city. The Free Library in conjunction with our partners the National Scrabble Association and After School Activities Partnership (ASAP) invite all ages to come and play scrabble at 17 participating Central, branch and regional libraries. Celebrate your love of language and commitment to literacy by volunteering or competing in this exciting program.
The kick-off event is Tuesday morning October 7, 2008 at The Parkway Central Library. Play will run through November 7, 2008 with the semi-finals taking place at Parkway Central Library on Monday, November 10. The final tournament will be played at Parkway Central Library on Wednesday, November 12, 2008.
You are invited to play scrabble at the following library locations: Chestnut Hill, Falls of Schuylkill, Fox Chase, Greater Olney, Independence, Kingsessing, Lillian Marrero, Overbrook Park, David Cohen/Ogontz, Northeast Regional, Parkway Central, Philadelphia City Institute, Queen Memorial, Charles Santore, Walnut Street West, Widener, and Wynnefield.
