Volunteering at the Free Library of Philadelphia can be rewarding and fun. We have opportunities at Central Library and our neighborhood branches throughout the city!
Please print out a Volunteer Application and return it to: Volunteer Services Program,
1901 Vine St, Philadelphia, PA 19103. You can also bring the form to your local branch.
Once you return the completed application, we will contact you and schedule an interview to discuss your interests and volunteer options.

Location: 20th and Wood Streets, behind Library
Hours: Open Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Description: Shelving, sorting, pricing donated books, and assisting customers.
- Books-To-Go Book Sale
Location: 1901 Vine Street
Hours: Monday - Friday, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Description: Packing, processing and sorting books, cashiering.

All that is needed to volunteer is: |
- At least 14 years of age.
- Available to volunteer at least 1-3 hours a week for at least 2-3 months. Some evening, Saturday, and short-term opportunities are available.
- The ability to work alone or with others (other volunteers, staff, or patrons).
